Yellow Jacket JV team jumps out to big first quarter lead to beat Christopher 63-51

Exploding out of the gates Tuesday night, the Chester Yellow Jacket JV team opened up a huge lead in the first quarter and then cruised to a 63-51 win over Christopher in Daniel Colbert Memorial Gym.

Steve Spears' team improves to 8-7 overall and 5-4 in the West Division of the Black Diamond Conference. Next up is a home game with Trico Saturday night at 6:15pm.

Chester led 21-8 after the first quarter and never looked back. The Yellow Jackets took a 37-22 lead to the locker room at halftime after outscoring the Bearcats 16-14 in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, the Yellow Jackets outscored Christopher 15-14 to take a 52-34 lead heading to the fourth quarter.

Cody Mileur led Chester with 15 points while Link Cushman tossed in 11.

Chris Schwartz (9), Austin Gendron (8), Kramer Eggemeyer (6), Austin Redeker (4), Joel Clendenin (3), Garrett Alms (3), Jared Johnson (2) and Jake Lochhead (2) also scored for Chester.
